Why from Arusha: The ultimate destination, but further away. The main entry gate (Naabi Hill) is about a 5-7 hour drive (often broken up by staying near Ngorongoro or in Karatu on the way). Flying from Arusha Airport (ARK) or Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) directly into the Serengeti (various airstrips) is a popular and time-saving option (approx. 1-1.5 hour flight).
