It is known to be the park which has the greatest concentration of African elephants and the ancient baobab trees. Tarangire has an area of approximately 2603 square Kilometers and within the park it is possible to see plenty of animals like the giraffes, Zebras, Buffalos, warthogs, Lions, Leopards, Impala, gazelles, dik dik and many more species. In this park, there are more than 500 birds’ species like the bee eaters, swallows, ostriches, kori bustards, hammerkops, vultures etc. The word Tarangire comes from Mbugwe tribe whereby “Tara” means river and “Ngire” means warthogs therefore it is the river of warthogs. Covering 14,763 square kilometers, Serengeti is famous for its wildlife, including over 2 million mammals and the Great Migration of wildebeests and zebras. The park hosts more than 500 bird species and features diverse landscapes, from grass plains to rocky hills. It’s accessible year-round, with the best time to visit during the dry season from June to October. Lunch will be served inside the park and afterwards, proceed with game viewing until the evening where you will drive straight to your accommodation for dinner and overnight. Enjoy a game drive along the way, where you may spot giraffes, buffalo, and elephants. The Serengeti is renowned for its annual migration, where vast numbers of wildebeests, zebras, and antelope move in search of fresh grazing. The timing of the migration depends on rainfall, with the herds typically crossing the Mara River from late July to September, providing an opportunity for Nile crocodiles to feast on them. After Lunch and an extensive game drive, we head for our partner tented camp for dinner and overnight. If you’re lucky enough you can spot predators hunting their prey as well as the majestic river crossing while hungry crocodiles wait their meal. Lunch will be served at a picnic site and after that you will proceed with your game drive until the late evening where you will drive to your accommodation for sinner and overnight stay. Spot wildlife like zebras, wildebeests, lions, and buffalo during your 5-6 hour exploration. The name “Tarangire” means “river of warthogs,” reflecting the importance of the Tarangire River for local animals. You’ll have a picnic lunch around noon, continue your game drive, and then head to your Karatu lodge for dinner and relaxation. One Week on Safari and Zanzibar

You will also visit Zanzibar island during your 6 days Serengeti and Zanzibar safari and visit Nungwi beach where you will engage in activities such as snorkeling, swimming and scuba diving. You will engage in morning and afternoon game drive during your safari in Serengeti national park and search for wildlife species such as elephants, lions, buffalos, leopards, rhinos, wildebeests, zebras, antelopes, waterbucks, and giraffes among others. Safari itinerary Day One Day 1: Pick up and drive to Serengeti national park You will start your safari with pick up in Arusha and your guide will welcome you for your safari. Your guide will also brief you about your safari and you will start your drive to Serengeti national park. After checking in and having lunch at your lodge, you will engage in a game drive and explore the vast savannah plains around Serengeti national park in search of wildlife species like elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, giraffes, elands, impalas, waterbucks, hippos, zebras, wildebeests among others. You will return to your lodge after your game drive for dinner and overnight at Heritage Serengeti Camp (FB) Day Three Day 3: drive to Arusha You will have breakfast before checking out of your lodge in Serengeti national park ahead of your drive to Arusha. You will check in at your hotel in Arusha and spend the rest of the day relaxing and dinner and overnight will be at Tulia boutique hotel and spa. Day Four Day 4: flight to Zanzibar After breakfast and checking out of your hotel in Arusha, you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar. On arrival in Zanzibar, you will be driven to your hotel where you will have lunch. You will also enjoy a tour around Stone town and get to learn about the history of Zanzibar island. You will also enjoy a guided tour around the alleyways of Stone town and visit different places in the town such as the local markets. After your stone town tour, you will return to your hotel for dinner and to spend the night at the Zanzibar palace hotel. Day Five and Six Day 5 and 6: visit Nungwi beach You will enjoy a visit to Nungwi beach in the northern part of Zanzibar island. You will relax along the white sand beach and engage in different activities on Nungwi beach like snorkeling, scuba diving and swimming. After your day at Nungwi beach, you will return to your hotel where you will have dinner and spend the night at Flame tree cottages. Day Seven Day 7: departure On the last day of a week in Serengeti and Zanzibar safari, you will have breakfast at your hotel and check out of the hotel ahead of your transfer to the airport for your flight which will bring the safari to an end.
