Starting at Momella Gate, hikers ascend through rich wildlife zones and montane forests to Miriakamba and Saddle Huts. An optional hike to Little Meru aids acclimatization before the midnight summit push to Socialist Peak. The route features breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro, crater cliffs, and alpine terrain. The descent retraces the route back to Arusha. This non-technical climb is ideal for acclimatization before Kilimanjaro, offering a quieter, scenic alternative with diverse ecosystems, ranger-guided safety, and rewarding summit views.
